Great product... Great value... One small problemNov 30, 2010
By Robert S. Tobias Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2ANVDZXCBHF0J This is a great stool. Assembly was easy except for the one issue described in a bit. Once put together it looked good, worked well, and was extremely stable.
The *only* problem is that the single sheet assembly instructions are poorly printed. (big surprise) That's not an issue until you get to the final step where you attach the hinge to the lid. It can go on in one of two ways and it's not at all clear from the instructions which way is correct.
I'm providing the attached short video that shows how so you can avoid this problem if you buy this stool. Hope you find it helpful!
BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews, accompanied by detailed videos, can take the place of first-hand experiences that are often lacking in online shopping. I've always appreciated the help I've received from other reviewers and try to return the favor as best as I can. I hope you found this review helpful and the video at least entertaining. If there was anything you thought was lacking or unclear leave a comment and I'll do what I can to fix it.

wrong dimension on the product detailsJan 07, 2011
By wibo The product dimensions are misleading. It is said that the dimensions are: 13 x 13 x 15 inches. I bought it thinking that the stool is higher than the Gift Mark Childrens Two Step Stool (w/out storage)= 13.4 x 12.8 x 12.8 inches. When the product arrived yesterday, I instantly measure the high and it turned out the dimension is closer to the second stool (w/out storage) = 13.4 x 12.8 x 12.8 inches. I am really disappointed. I most likely going to return the product.

Decent enough stoolJan 31, 2011
By Keius This stool does the job. I had expected it to be just a bit higher but it'll work fine when my son get's older. He's 2 years 3 months.
Two things i didn't like so much about it. The first is that it came with a line crack on the top flat piece. It wasn't on the main piece of wood but on the small rail piece attached to the end of the top platform. It's very noticeable when you open the top because the pressure from opening it puts stress on the crack and pushes it apart. That doesn't affect the safety as long as i don't open the top wide open so i decided not to ship it back.
The 2nd thing was that after using it for a week or two, was that the finish/paint is not waterproof in any way, shape, or form. I have to wipe it down after every use. My kid uses it mainly to brush his teeth so small amounts of water can possibly drop onto the stool. I hadn't noticed at first and it has marred the white finish (minor bumps and scratched finish).
Other than that, every things been satisfactory. It was very easy and quick to put together.

Great stool overallNov 14, 2010
By A. Corder This was pretty easy to put together with clear instructions. We did use wood glue for extra strength/stability which was not included or required. The only problem was the hinge for the top step / storage lid. It didn't fit right and wouldn't allow the lid to close properly - for this reason I took off a star. We ended up just leaving the hinge off, and feel the lid works great without it. The storage area is just big enough for our son's bath toys (after they've fully dried to avoid water damage). The 2-step height is perfect to allow him to reach the sink - He's 2 years old and about 35" tall. Depending on your floor, there could be a risk of it sliding. We have it on top of a non-slip bath rug which seems to be working well. Hopefully it will transition to a potty step, too, but we haven't tried that yet.

step stoolAug 21, 2010
By A. Beck This piece was easy to assemble, and it is very sturdy. I love the added storage and the fact that the lid opens and closes very slowly so no little fingers get smashed.
