5My experience with this cabinetFeb 10, 2005
By Sarah Officer
Doors are well supported, and assembly wasnt too difficult at all. Just make sure the spacing of the shelves is what you want before you put it together (We had to take it apart once because we were slightly off). Spacing is different for CDs and DVDs. Very Sturdy, was able to move it rightside up and downside up without worry of it falling apart. Very heavy though. Instructions easy to follow, many diagrams to help you along the way. Assembly took time, but it was definately worth the time. Beautiful cabinet. Looks to be something that will last a long time.

1disappointedSep 05, 2006

I am very disappointed in this product. The backing is made of cardboard; the keys don't fit the lock; the doors don't stay shut all the way unless you use the latch in the back of the left door; it could use about three more removable shelves to maximize storage capacity; the unit is wobbly. For $200 I would expect a higher quality product. I wish I could get my money back.

2the wobbly thing is okay for dvd storageSep 01, 2010

Stores DVD's, CD's etc. Works decently. Lot's of shelves and ways to adjust them for CD's or DVD's. Doors swing fully open to let you eyeball everything in it. Unit requires 46 inches of wallspace to do that. Poorly designed. Manufacturing tolerances bad. For example" Mine has a a nice snug fit in the split between the doors when closed, but that widens to slightly over 3/8 of an inch at the bottom. I have looked at ever way possible to fix it, but nothing can be done. I suspect the problem is with the way the hinges attach the doors. The holes are pre-drilled so not much choice. Just a poor design that looks bad amongst other nicer entertainment room furniture. Also the system for attaching the side panels is very inadequate. Does not hold securely. I ended up gluing and clamping those to eliminate very noticable gaps. The unit is wobbly because of the way it must be assembled with connecting rods and cam-locking bolts. This unit is also not level. Mine required I put 5/16ths of an inch of cardboard shim under the front to level it. Otherwise the doors swing open unless they are latched. Frustrating cabinet. I just stuck it in the basement over in the corner. No way it will make it to the family room like I planned for the crappy thing. I will never purchase any Prepac cabinets or furniture again. This one sucks, despite being okay to get stacks of DVD cases out of sight and in one place. The price on this item should be $29.95

2Very disappointedApr 10, 2009

First off, I received this product late, and the seller would not refund my shipping cost. I had to contact Amazon to conduct the A-to-Z guarantee, and then I received my refund. Secondly, when I finally received my product, there was missing hardware. I tried to get a hold of the seller several times before they finally agreed to ship out the missing items. It took about 2 weeks for the missing hardware to arrive. I am very disappointed with Vision Decor as a seller, and I will never purchase from them again.

4Good stuff....Not Great But GoodMar 02, 2009

This cabinet is sweet, but I agree with all of the other reviews....the latch on the left door that needs to be pushed up in order to keep the left door closed is stupid. I even had to drill the hole bigger because the latch going up didn't line up with the hole on the top ceiling part of the cabinet. They need to put another lock on the left hand door. That way you don't have to reach around and unlock it from the right handside. I also don't like that the middle dividing piece of wood doesn't extend all the way back. Dvd's and Cd's aren't seperated from the left side and right side. That would have been nice. Dvd's are always falling over behind the piece of wood and it's just a pain to have to correct that. I have my Dvd's going down the left side and then continuing on the right side. I don't have them going all the way across. Overall, it's a good cabinet, but the company should have REAL people testing these out and improving the flaws that this cabinet has. It is really heavy too......and it took me 4 hours to put it together.
